Timeless IMAGERY for relaxed couples

“We are especially delighted with the off-the-cuff moments that Barbara has an eye for – she is able to capture the unaware subjects and the surroundings to create really artistic photos.”

Wedding storytelling for loved-up, authentic, relaxed couples

Hello there lovely person! You’ve come to the right place if you’re after a natural, relaxed series of storytelling photos of your day. I capture all the fun, interesting or unusual moments, as they happen naturally. Laughs, tears, hugs and all the imperfectly perfect details too. Working with your vibe as a couple, I’ll stay in the background as much as possible, to allow your day to unfold in an unobtrusive way.

Real moments, from start to finish

Even when we do “posed” photos, they’re not really posed! I have lots of tricks up my sleeve to get you those romantic, timeless shots without the cheese. And of course, lots of candid guest interactions will be captured for you to re-live the joy of your special day over and over.

The Cotswolds and its surroundings provide an understated charm and elegance I absolutely love as a backdrop to your special day. I’m located in Banbury, on the edge of the Cotswolds so I am well placed to cover all Cotswolds wedding venues without needing overnight accommodation.

Some stunning venues that I have either photographed a wedding at, or hope to in the future, include Cripps Barn, Hyde House, Elmore Court, Primrose Hill Farm, and Euridge Manor.

“Friendly with all the guests and caring for the details, Barbara captured beautiful moments on the day. The photos were high quality and beautifully edited.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Typically, for a full wedding, I deliver between 600 – 900+ images. It’s not an exact science though and depends fully on what was happening on the day, how lively your guests were, and how many there were in general. Usually the more guests you have the more photos as I try to include everyone at least once.

I love fun group photos especially if we can arrange people creatively! But in my experience, most guests don’t enjoy too many of the traditional ones, to be honest. I usually recommend having just the immediate family combos, the supporting crew/VIPs, and a full group if we can manage it in the space we have. We can then take some more relaxed ones with others afterwards if you like. I know that in some cultures group shots are more a thing than in others, too – but as my approach is mostly about genuine unscripted moments, I am not the right photographer for you if this is a particularly important part of the day for you.

Please check the Investment section further up this page 🙂 When you enquire, do send me details of what you’re planning and how long you’d need me for, and I’ll be able to provide a specific quote based on your timings too. I also offer a discount for venues on my bucket list, of which there are many, so do ask – you never know.

The quote I’ll provide will include travel costs if applicable, yes. If it’s not realistic for me to safely travel back home the same evening (depending on logistics and location), overnight accommodation will be added separately, but I’ll mention this during our initial consultation if applicable so you can be sure about what to expect before you book.

A second photographer can be useful for several reasons, but isn’t essential. It really depends on how big your wedding is, and how complicated the logistics are. When a wedding is large enough to have loads going on, and you want to ensure coverage in two locations, or from different angles of important moments, I can certainly book a second photographer, whose images will still be edited by me to ensure consistency across your album. It’s also useful to have a competent second photographer in the unlikely event that anything happens to me on the way to your wedding (although this has never happened and hopefully never will).

My contract says a 6 week turnaround as sometimes my schedule can get very busy, but during quieter periods it’s usually 2-3 weeks.

You are welcome to print your own albums too for your own private use after you receive your digitals. However, I am committed to ensuring that your photos get the beautiful treatment they deserve in a professional album that will stand the test of time and can be kept for decades without fading or the colour looking wrong. And I take all the hassle out of the design and ordering process for you so you can focus on enjoying the post-wedding high! I offer beautiful albums in several sizes, so just ask if you’d like me to sort that out for you.

The suppliers I use for my beautiful coffee table albums are professional labs that work only with photographers; the inks and paper used in them are archival quality and the colours will be exactly as intended when I took the pictures, which is often not true for high street or cheaper online retailers. The flow of your day will be matched to a custom layout I create for you, so that the story unfolds in the best possible rhythm across the album.

Absolutely! I’m an ally and the more people I can witness celebrating their love, in whatever shape or form, the more I love my job, so I’m here for it! The way I shoot doesn’t depend on gender in any way – documentary is whatever happens on the day anyway, and for your couple portraits I work with your vibe and how you interact with each other regardless of gender. I also try to avoid gendered or otherwise heteronormative language on my website and in my labelling of workflow and such; however do please call me out if I miss something, as I’m only human and may not get it right 100% of the time as much as my heart is in the right place.

ABSOLUTELY. I’m neurodivergent myself, I get it. Please don’t hesitate to ask for any accommodations such as a certain form of communication, or other adjustments I can make to help you feel more comfortable. You don’t need to disclose your diagnosis or anything, unless you want to; all I ask is that you still provide me with the details I ask for in the lead up to your big day in whatever format works for you, so that I can make sure I get the best possible photos for you 🙂

I have full public liability and professional indemnity insurance through PolicyBee/Hiscox (policy no. 14791356). I carry backup equipment with me so that if something breaks or malfunctions, I can continue working with minimal interruption to coverage. I shoot on dual memory cards, too, so if one becomes corrupted I have a full backup on the other card by default so your images aren’t lost.
