  • “Barbara was a fantastic photographer for our wedding, she made us feel so relaxed even though we were quite nervous to be photographed – we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her!”

Based in Banbury — right on the Oxfordshire/Northamptonshire border and less than 30 minutes from Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon and Kenilworth — I’m one of the most conveniently located photographers for couples planning a wedding anywhere in Warwickshire.

My approach is documentary and relaxed. I don’t produce fashion-editorial shoots with dramatic posing and moody filters — I capture the warmth, laughter and genuine emotion of your actual day. If the word “editorial” makes you feel like your wedding photos would look like a magazine you don’t read, you’re probably in the right place.

Warwickshire wedding venues I know and love

Warwickshire has some of the most varied and characterful wedding venues in the Midlands. From the medieval drama of Warwick Castle to the Shakespearean romance of Stratford-upon-Avon, this is a county that suits couples who want something genuinely beautiful and historically rich.

I’ve photographed at St John’s House near Warwick Castle as one of the most iconic wedding backdrops in England; at the Henley Room in Stratford-upon-Avon for an intimate micro wedding ceremony; and at various historic churches and villages, for example St Mary’s, Pillerton Hersey. Each venue has its own atmosphere and its own light, and I love adapting my eye to wherever your day takes you.

Other Warwickshire venues I’d be delighted to photograph at include Stoneleigh Abbey, Coombe Abbey, Shustoke Barn, Compton Verney, Hampton Manor, Upton House, Welcombe Hotel, Ettington Park, and the many beautiful churches and village halls across the county.

A small, intimate ceremony at the Henley Room in Stratford-upon-Avon is one of those occasions where every single moment matters — because there aren’t hundreds of guests and a six-hour reception to fall back on. This is exactly where my documentary eye comes into its own: capturing the quiet exchanges, the nervous smiles, the tears that nobody quite expected, and some cool relaxed ideas we had time to explore with just the couple!

About Barbara

I’ve been photographing weddings, families and portraits for 13 years. Although originally I got a degree in Japanese, and then a Masters in Web Design (I still freelance as a designer too), life had other plans and drew me to photography!

My work has been exhibited at the UK Houses of Parliament and in Paris, featured in Photo VOGUE and Digital Photographer magazine, and I’ve worked with global clients including PlayStation and Fujifilm.

I have a 5.0 rating on Google across all my wedding reviews. I carry full public liability and professional indemnity insurance (via Hiscox), backup equipment, and shoot on dual memory cards so your images are always safe.

Frequently Asked Questions

A second photographer can be useful for several reasons, but isn’t essential. It really depends on how big your wedding is, and how complicated the logistics are. When a wedding is large enough to have loads going on, and you want to ensure coverage in two locations, or from different angles of important moments, I can certainly book a second photographer, whose images will still be edited by me to ensure consistency across your album. We can have a chat and see if you might want this option early on!

Absolutely! I’m an ally and the more people I can witness celebrating their love, in whatever shape or form, the more I love my job, so I’m here for it! The way I shoot doesn’t depend on gender in any way – documentary is whatever happens on the day, and for your couple portraits I work with your vibe and how you interact with each other regardless of gender. I also try to avoid gendered or otherwise heteronormative language on my website and in my labelling of workflow and such; however do please call me out if I miss something, I’m always learning as much as my heart is in the right place.

ABSOLUTELY. I’m neurodivergent myself, I get it. Please don’t hesitate to ask for any accommodations such as a certain form of communication, or other adjustments I can make to help you feel more comfortable. You don’t need to disclose your diagnosis or anything, unless you want to; all I ask is that you still provide me with the details I ask for in the lead up to your big day in whatever format works for you, so that I can make sure I get the best possible photos for you 🙂

I have full public liability and professional indemnity insurance through PolicyBee/Hiscox (policy no. 14791356). I carry backup equipment with me so that if something breaks or malfunctions, I can continue working with minimal interruption to coverage. I shoot on dual memory cards, too, so if one becomes corrupted I have a full backup on the other card by default so your images aren’t lost.
