Woburn Safari Park Wedding with a Giraffe Feeding Experience

Woburn Safari Park Wedding Bride and Groom feeding giraffes

When D + J contacted me with their plan of getting married at the Safari Lodge at Woburn Safari Park near Milton Keynes, and mentioned that they plan to go and feed giraffes after their ceremony because they just love giraffes, they sounded like my kind of couple so I jumped at the chance! The safari lodge is a large indoor space and also has a covered veranda for mingling in case it’s too sunny outside, or if it rains (spoiler: it did). The lodge is within the main safari park area, but after 5pm the day guests left and we had the lake area all to ourselves to take group photos and couple photos when the rain let up for a bit. Feeding the giraffes was not possible outside due to the torrential rain, so we went inside for some quick photos.

The bride’s family is Russian and the groom is English, so there was a lovely mix of cultures represented in their decorations and aspects of their day. It was wonderful to photograph this meeting of two cultures. They certainly knew how to party and the dancefloor was never empty! Also we had a bouquet toss which was my first one in a very long time – and no confetti which was also my first non-confetti wedding in a long time! I loved that this couple did their wedding their way, and made sure they included only the things that were important and special to them, without worrying about traditions or expectations.

Here is a small selection of their day!
