After enjoying their maternity and family session with me in the Cotswolds, this lovely family had me back to photograph their gorgeous newborn baby girl in the comfort of their own home in Banbury.
Many people consider DIY newborn baby photos at home, which can also work if you have a good eye, but the drawback is that you’re never in the photos with the baby! This way, we could get lots of photos of the parents holding their little girl, as well as family group photos. And, of course, when you’ve just recently delivered, and are feeling a bit sore and perhaps even worse after a c-section, then why not just relax and let the photographer get nice photos while you just spend time with your precious newborn.
I always make sure we allow plenty of time, because babies are unpredictable, and indeed I spent over 2 hours at this shoot to work around feeds and nappy changes. That way it’s not a performance for you to get the photos – I stay mostly in the background wherever possible and give gentle direction only.
