Relaxed, natural family photography in Oxfordshire, the Cotswolds, Warwickshire, Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire and beyond

When this lovely mum contacted me all the way from Texas, to book a family photoshoot to celebrate her little girl’s first birthday while on vacation in the Cotswolds, I was so excited to meet them. We had a planning chat over Zoom and I was looking forward to taking them to Lower Slaughter, a location I suggested as I knew they would love it! Sadly on the day, despite the forecast (never trust it in the UK anyway!) we were met with a relentless heavy drizzle which would have made it quite unpleasant to take photos, and wet hair doesn’t look great in photos either.

So we decided to move north, driving up towards Chipping Campden and stopping at some of the villages on the way to check if the drizzle had eased off. The family took it in their stride, they were super flexible and completely trusted me to know the locations and best way forward – the best type of client! 🙂 Eventually we did find a little spot where we could capture some of the Cotswold charm of honey coloured houses, summer flowers and even an M&S birthday cake smash right there on the pavement (or sidewalk, in case of any US readers). We got a few funny looks from passersby, but of course this being the UK, nobody actually said anything, and little E got to smear the cake all over herself in peace!
