K&J’s wedding ceremony on a sunny afternoon in St Albans register office was full of laughs and happy tears. The couple work in the film industry, and the groom is an excellent photographer himself so I was absolutely bricking it, but they were absolutely lovely and made my job as painless as it could possibly be. They chose a very relaxed pub garden wedding reception venue in Rickmansworth. The awesome thing about Hertfordshire wedding photography is that there are so many cosy village venues easily accessible from both London and all over the South East, and there is something for all tastes. K&J had a handmade lemonade stand in the pub garden, a marquee with relaxed seating, a large field for the children to run around in and play, and various other little touches made it all feel like a lovely garden party and not at all a formal affair.
Here is the heavily documentary coverage of K&J’s day – they did not want any posed couple photos at all, just a few family snaps outside St Albans register office, and even those were silly and fun… absolute treats to photograph. At the end of the night, some family members coaxed the newlyweds into a large group photos in the marquee after all, and the results were wacky and wonderful.
